I'm an accountant for the State of New
Hampshire, though I do work part-time scoring NH
FisherCats games for a third-party
stats-house during the summer. I have been a
lifelong baseball (i.e. Red Sox) fan who has
always been interested the business and
statistical analysis sides of baseball, and a
proud SABR member. My first MLB game attended
was Clemens' 20th win on the last day of the
season in 1987 against the mighty Milly-wok-ay
Brew Crew. I grew up playing Strat, and then
the many ball games on NES, PC, et al, including
the OOTP series. My favorite players would have
to be those from the 80's that I grew up with,
Wade Boggs and Dwight Evans coming up at the top
of the list. Luckily, my wife is also a Red Sox
fan, which makes supper discussions a bit more
civil (can you imagine if she liked the Yanks?).

I'm a 39 year old CFO from Colorado Springs and
own pieces of several local businesses. I was
born in the San Francisco Bay Area and have been
in Colorado for 12 years now. I am a life-long
Giants fan and always loved the Clark boys, Jack
and Will. I was planning on naming my firstborn
Will, but I don't think she would have
appreciated that. I have been a history buff
since I learned to read and as a child I read
everything I could get my hands on regarding
baseball's storied past and memorized just about
every stat my head could hold. My favorite
movies: "Field of Dreams" and "It Happens Every
Spring" - what a great way to usher out the
winter and Play Ball!
I have owned most every version of OOTP, including the original. If
fact, believe it or not, I once recommended to
Markus Heinsohn on the bulletin board discussing
his original release of OOTP that he incorporate
some type of historical play in his game similar
to APBA's game that could import complete
seasons from their Bill James Encyclopedia, but
with a twist: make it a career league where the
rookies can be imported every season. I guess I
should have created that game myself...ahh,
missed opportunities.

I was born in Orange, CA, grew up in the SF/Bay
Area,
went to college in Chico, and now work in Los
Angeles
as a television writer /producer/editor.
No kids or
house on the hill, but I do have one terrific wife
and two, umm, nice cats. I met
Tim through fellow owner Charlie Qualls and have
been
involved in 4 different virtual leagues of Tim's.
The
2002 World Series was a baseball high point for me
because I grew up an Angels (as in California, not
Los
Angeles of yadah yadah) fan and became a
Giants fan
during my years in the Bay Area. My all time
favorite
players are Rod Carew and George Brett.

I am a physician in Charlotte, NC, married for
seven years, with a 3-year-old daughter. I grew
up in Arkansas and am a big Razorback fan. I am
a relative newcomer to baseball, not becoming a
fan until medical school when my eventual wife
and I would go see the local (at the time) AA
club, the Memphis Chicks. Since then I have
been pretty much hooked and eventually became a
Detroit Tiger fan while I was living in Ann
Arbor, MI. Now we pretty much try to support
our local team which is the AAA affiliate of the
White Sox.
I have been playing since OOTP 4 but took some time off
from online leagues until the last few months
when I decided I needed a hobby and got back
into it. Otherwise I enjoy most sports and am a
bit of a history buff.

Born in and raised in Detroit , I've managed to live/work in DC (where I met and lived
with the Commish while we were getting our
Masters') and overseas in Russia for four
years. Currently working as a consultant for
one of the big behemoth consulting firms in DC
on a HUGE project for the Federal Government.
Favorite baseball moments (witnessed in person)
are Jason Thompson hitting a ball OUT of Tiger
Stadium, Larry Herndon hitting three HRs in
consecutive at bats in one game, watching Rod
Carew, and Tiger Stadium acoustics, which
allowed you to hear an umpire call a game
despite sitting behind the bullpen in left
field. Stepdaughter is now a junior at the
Smith School of Business at Maryland, and my
wife still puts up with me after seven years. I
keep busy by running, playing computer games,
and fanatically following the Red Wings.
Favorite athlete: Steve Yzerman; Baseball: Alan
Trammell, John Smoltz, Bernie Williams; Soccer:
Michael Owen, Dennis Bergkamp. Favorite
Authors: Clive Barker, Stephen King, and PJ
O'Rourke. PS – Ozzie Smith hit that HR fair and
square; don’t
listen to the Commish.

I
was born behind the Iron Curtain so baseball was
not my first love but now I can't get enough.
I play in a softball league and get involved with
many simulation leagues. OOTP is rather new
to me, I have been playing only about 8 months.
Playing Style - love to take teams in need of a
turn around and rebuilding through the draft,
preferably with late picks that work out.
Trade Style - like to get creative and trade
often.
Goals - bring the LA team out of the basement
within two years and get them competing.
Favorite Teams - Baseball: Mets and Blue
Jays. Football: Bears and Chiefs -
Basketball: Suns
Favorite Movie - I have many but things like
Reservoir Dogs, Braveheart, Tommy Boy, Old School
and I love the Family Guy show.

I grew up in Denver with the Broncos and
didn't get into baseball until high school, when I started a head-to-head computer
baseball league which ran off and on for 15 years. We used Micro
League Baseball, Tony LaRussa 3, and finally
Out of the Park Baseball, which got me into
online leagues. Many current UL owners
date back to those Micro League days in the
1990s.
My first venture into running an OOTP league was the States League
(all-time all-stars by state of birth) and in
the last few years I have also starting playing
Strato-matic Baseball, the tabletop
cards-and-dice version. I also play bass
guitar and enjoy playing Football
Manager/Worldwide Soccer Manager.
I
grew up with the great Cardinals teams of the '80s,
became a Giants fan after moving to California,
and a Nationals fan as of 2005. But my true
hometown team is the Colorado Rockies.
Favorite players: Ozzie Smith, Tim
Raines, Larry Walker, Ichiro Suzuki, Gil Coan, Willie Mays, Buck
O'Neil, Lou Gehrig, Troy Tulowitzki, Jamey
Carroll.

I've been playing some form of fantasy baseball
since I was five. You know, the kind where you
throw the ball up in the air and "it's a fly
ball off the bat of Reggie Jackson! Yastrzemski
on the run in deep left center...and makes the
catch!" (Maybe that was actually fantasy
sportscasting.) Born and raised in the suburban
wilds of Seattle, WA, I was 10 years old when
major league baseball finally arrived in my
hometown. We were so starved for pro sports that
we were willing to watch a god-awful team in a
godforsaken domed stadium -- and pay for the
privilege. I went to college in Oregon, then
spent most of the '90s in the Bay Area, where
regular opportunities to freeze my ass off at
the 'Stick somehow turned me into a Giants fan.
I lived in Chicago for two years (South Side,
holla!), then moved to my present home in
upstate New York, where you have to drive an
hour just to find some minor league ball. Now,
on the cusp of making a temporary one-year
return to the Bay Area, I am offered the chance
to take over the San Francisco franchise.
Coincidence? I think not.
