The Seattle first baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers, pounding them for a .609 average (14-23) with no home runs and 5 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor.
May is batting .330 this season in 29 games with 1 home run, 19 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 37 hits in 112 at-bats. |  | Saturday, May 13th, 1967: Stafford Pitches Toronto to Shutout Win Everything clicked on the hill today for Bill Stafford of the Toronto Marlies as he hurled his club to a 2-0 shutout win over the Pittsburgh Maulers, limiting them to 5 hits while recording 5 strikeouts and yielding 2 walks. He overpowered some batters with his fastball and buckled knees with his sharp breaking pitches.
"We had our shot at him a couple of different times," the Maulers manager said, "but we weren't able to get to him."
