 | Thursday, May 11th, 1967: St. Louis Whitewashes Dallas Don Sutton had an impressive outing today. He hurled the St. Louis Maroons to a 5-0 shutout victory over the Dallas Texans, yielding 4 hits with 6 strikeouts and 3 walks. "He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," the Dallas skipper said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders." On his stats sheet this season Sutton shows a 4-4 record, 8 starts, 58.1 innings, 32 strikeouts and a 4.01 ERA. |
