United League News Article | |  | Wednesday, May 10th, 1967: 400 Home Runs for Los Angeles Slugger The Los Angeles Outlaws defeated the Washington Monuments 11-4 yesterday in a game that featured Hank Aaron's 400th career home run.
In the clubhouse, the Outlaws right fielder spoke about the milestone achievement. "To be honest, I don't even remember my first home run," he said. "But this one I don't think I'll forget. Who knows if I'll hit another hundred, or fifty, or even ten?"
On his historic day, Aaron banged out 2 hits in 5 at-bats and scored 2 runs with 3 RBI.
In his career Aaron has hit for a .296 average and totaled 2011 hits, 400 home runs and 1181 RBIs. | |
