United League News Article | |  | Monday, May 8th, 1967: Chicago First Baseman Hurt The Chicago Colts were dealt a serious blow when the team learned that Norm Cash was likely to be out for 6 days after he injured himself being hit by a pitch in today's game against the Dallas Texans. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a fractured hand. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Chicago manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries--they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Norm is back in action."
Cash is presently hitting at a .320 pace with 4 home runs and 10 RBIs. He has played in 28 games and scored 20 times. | |
