 | Monday, April 24th, 1967: UL's #1 Player, Fregosi of St. Louis The United League presented its most recent Player of the Week Award to St. Louis Maroons shortstop Jim Fregosi. "His numbers speak for themselves," a club publicist said. "He's been really seeing the ball well." Indeed, Fregosi has. Last week he went 17 for 33, batted .515 with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs. Thus far this season Fregosi is hitting .378 with 4 home runs, 17 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has 37 hits in 98 at-bats and has played in 21 games. |
