| Breaking News |  | Atlanta's Reed Cops UL Best Manager Award Wednesday, October 20th, 1971: Glen Reed, skipper of the Atlanta Hilltoppers was voted 1971 United League Manager of the Year and accepted the award earlier today.
He guided Atlanta to first place in the West Division with a 98-62 record.
"I'm very happy about this," he said at the press conference, "But I'm more happy about what my boys did on the field. They battled their butts off for me all year.
