Thursday, September 25th, 1969: Rowdy Players Suspended by League
Detroit's Reggie Jackson and Manhattan's Tom Seaver have been handed 7-game suspensions for their parts in yesterday's upheaval at Kiner Field (1965). The teams were notified today that the suspensions would go into effect immediately. According to the league commissioner Jackson and Seaver provoked and incited the brawl and bore the blame for what transpired.

Jackson is hitting .299 this year with 41 home runs and 128 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .374, 62 walks and scored 81 times.

This year Seaver has made 17 starts, thrown 116.1 innings, fanned 54 batters and walked 34. His won-lost record is 6-3 with a 3.64 ERA.
Wednesday, September 17th, 1969: Jenkins Pitches San Francisco to Shutout Win
"He's mixing his pitches real well and keeping his composure on the mound," the San Francisco manager said. "When Jenkins does that, good things happen."

These comments came after Fergie Jenkins and the San Francisco Spiders shut out the Detroit Griffins 7-0.

He had 4 strikeouts, 3 walks and allowed 5 hits.

In 30 starts this year Jenkins has crafted a 12-12 record and a 3.49 ERA.
Thursday, September 11th, 1969: Detroit MR Will Miss 1-2 Weeks
Detroit fans will be disappointed to learn that Joe Hoerner developed a tender elbow while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the Detroit Griffins manager that Hoerner was expected to miss 1-2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the reliever could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

This year Hoerner has made 38 relief appearances with 1 save. In 44.2 innings, he has permitted 29 hits, fanned 25 hitters and recorded 5 wins and no losses with a 2.01 ERA.
