It turns out that Havana's Joe Horlen needed little run support to beat San Diego today 7-0 at Ballpark of Havana . In a solid outing Horlen recorded 7 strikeouts and 1 walk as he held the Admirals to 5 hits and shut them out.
Currently Horlen has a record of 28-8 with 161 strikeouts and 66 walks in 313.2 innings and a 2.09 ERA.

 | Sunday, August 10th, 1969: Havana Blanks Terrapins, Chance Wins
It was a razor-sharp performance by Dean Chance of the Havana Sugar Kings against the Baltimore Terrapins. He fashioned a fine 5-hitter in blanking them 3-0 and chalked up 6 strikeouts and 1 walk.
This year Chance has gone 23-18 with an ERA of 2.40 and has 197 strikeouts in 409 innings.

 | Friday, August 1st, 1969: Season Possibly Over for Brooks Robinson
The season is ending on a bad note for Brooks Robinson, shortstop for the Havana Sugar Kings. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Robinson was hurt against the Toronto Marlies while throwing the ball. He suffered a torn back muscle and will be out for at least 11 months.
This season Robinson has banged out 78 hits in 404 at-bats for a .193 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .292 pace and his totals also include 29 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
