Sunday, August 10th, 1969: Havana Blanks Terrapins, Chance Wins
It was a razor-sharp performance by Dean Chance of the Havana Sugar Kings against the Baltimore Terrapins. He fashioned a fine 5-hitter in blanking them 3-0 and chalked up 6 strikeouts and 1 walk.

This year Chance has gone 23-18 with an ERA of 2.40 and has 197 strikeouts in 409 innings.
Friday, August 1st, 1969: Siebert Pitches Terrapins to Shutout Victory
In an outstanding outing, Sonny Siebert tamed Houston on a 5-hit shutout. The Baltimore hurler went the distance, finishing with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 7-0 win.

"He had a lot of first pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to the Houston manager. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."

This season to date, Siebert has fashioned a 22-10 mark and 2.54 ERA in 318.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .220 against him and he has logged 170 strikeouts.
Thursday, July 31st, 1969: Generals Nye Dominates Terrapins
Rich Nye went the distance at Colt Stadium today. The Houston hurler yielded 4 hits, walked 0 and had 3 strikeouts in the Generals 3-0 triumph over the Baltimore Terrapins.

On his 1968 stats sheet Nye shows a 6-6 record, 16 starts, 111.1 innings, 50 strikeouts and a 2.91 ERA.
