Sprague has made 67 relief appearances this year and notched 2 saves. To date in 190.2 innings he has a 10-11 record, 4.25 ERA with 109 strikeouts and 92 walks. |  | Saturday, August 9th, 1969: Koufax Shuts out Twin Cities The Toronto manager told reporters after the game, "When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy. The more pitches he throws, the better his command is."
He was talking about Sandy Koufax, who had just hurled a fine 2-hit shutout over the Twin Cities Trappers. He had 15 strikeouts and 2 walks in the Toronto 3-0 victory.
"An outstanding job," the Twin Cities manager said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game."

The Marlies have lost the services of reliever John Wyatt for the rest of the season due to a torn labrum. Wyatt was injured in a recent game with the Montreal Alouettes while throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 12 months.
To this point in the season, Wyatt has put up these figures: 1-2 record, 66 relief appearances with 96 innings, no saves, 67 strikeouts, 42 walks and a 5.53 ERA.
