| Breaking News |  | Saturday, September 13th, 1969: Season Possibly Over for Jim Busby Jim Busby of the Texans just might have to call it quits for the season. The 42-year-old Dallas right fielder received a possible season-ending injury against the Los Angeles Outlaws recently at Turnpike Stadium. Busby suffered fractured ribs while making a defensive play. The Texans medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 4 weeks.
Busby is currently hitting at a .304 pace with 5 home runs and 47 RBIs. |  | Monday, September 8th, 1969: Crawford Week's Best in UL One of the league's most exciting young players, Willie Crawford of the Dallas Texans earned himself United League Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games.
For the week the 23-year-old right fielder had a lofty .588 average (10-17), collecting 1 home run, 4 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
