Friday, October 6th, 1967: Atlanta Tops Cleveland for UL Title
It was a storybook year for the Atlanta Hilltoppers as they closed out a 4-0 series win over the Cleveland Barons to claim the 1967 World Series. They wrapped it up with a 3-2 victory to cap an incredible season and brought home their 1st championship.

The Hilltoppers manager gave his view of the series, "We had a lot of things going for us, offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes win a World Series."

"We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year," said the Barons manager. "They played better baseball than us and they beat us."

During the West Division regular season Atlanta put up a 99-61 record and finished first.
Wednesday, September 27th, 1967: Atlanta Starting Pitcher Will Miss 2 Weeks
It took the Atlanta team doctor a while to realize it, but starting pitcher Jim Palmer won't simply play through a strained tricep muscle after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Outlaws-Hilltoppers game. At first, it looked like Palmer might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 2 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Palmer as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.

This season Palmer has a 20-5 record with a 3.13 ERA.
